This cat transforms into a rag doll

This cat has many peculiarities that make him a tremendously homey and loving pet of his family, in addition to possessing the peculiarity of standing still and relaxed, like a rag doll.

Probably if you have in front of you a cat of the breed Ragdoll you find it difficult to differentiate it from others, because it is a very recent cross between Siamese, Persian and Burmese cats. There are many different legends about how it was its beginning, but they all agree to date this breed in 1960, in California, where a cat was crossed looking for a variety of especially large cats.

In English, the expression "rag doll" literally means "rag doll", and this has to do with a curious virtue that this breed has: when it is held in arms and relaxes it is able to enter a state of atypical relaxation in a cat, because it lowers all its defenses and what almost inert, with limbs dispensed, as if it were a rag doll.

An incredibly home-made personality
This breed of cat is characterized by being eminently homemade, breaking many customs typically attributed to cats, and resembling in some a dog, starting with the relaxation of muscles when they are sleeping in our arms. The other cats generally keep their caution, so they might pass, and even when they are relaxed they could react with great speed if they must fall on their feet, in the face of a surprise overturning of the arms that take them. Not the Ragdolls, they give the time to sleep confidently.

In addition, this breed of cat does not present any hunter instinct. They are cats that show an atypical love for their owners, are very dependent, do not like to spend time alone and prefer to be present in family activities. In fact, unlike other cats, spending the day alone can cause stress. They like physical contact, being hugged, caressed, listening to the family's buzz in the rooms and participating watching around.

Also, unlike other cats, their voice is very different. It is not uncommon for meowing, and when it does it proves to have an extraordinarily weak timbre. So much so that he seems to be sick or very sad when he is heard meowing.

It looks like a lynx, but it's quite the opposite
Their physical appearance is inherited from the Comaneci and Persian races, with that lynx profile that characterizes them. It has a long fur and is usually of two colors: white limbs and brown trunk, very similar to Siamese. They may also have a mitted color, with a white chin and "gloves", and the trunk and limbs of another color.

Like other long-haired pets, it needs to be brushed assiduously, because otherwise the hair becomes tangled and develops knots that can be a source of mites and dust, and generate pain when moving, since the knots tighten the skin.

The Ragdolls need about three years to reach the final size, which is much longer than ordinary cats usually take. This is because it can become a very large cat, they do not weigh less than 5 and a half kilos and can reach 9, in case of males, and females 4.5 to 6.9 kilos.
